Anxiety - Panic - Trauma - Attachment - Relational Issues
We survive because of the motivation that low levels of anxiety gift us. When those low levels start to skyrocket, it hijacks our nervous system and makes connecting to ourselves and to others challenging. In therapy, we get to build skills to combat times of discomfort, nervousness, and anxiety, as well as symptoms related to panic, trauma, depression, etc.
Therapy is not just for those with debilitating pain. It is also for those of us who are wildly curious about unwrapping ourselves to seek truth and fulfillment and live boldly. It is for those of us ready to step into our stories and tell them from a place of authenticity and bravery.
Jess Mattson
Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider (Temp)
In light of COVID-19 and to encourage social distancing, I do offer telehealth services to clients. In an effort to ease your mind, I am fully vaccinated to protect against COVID-19 as of January 20, 2021. I am accepting new clients and am eager to meet you and work to navigate these unprecedented times.
When I made the decision to become a therapist, it was because two things became clear to me: I love people and I love learning about their why. Now I get the opportunity to sit with you and be wildly curious about who you are and who you want to become while acknowledging and processing the pain, challenges, and celebrations along the way.
I embarked on this field because I decided that honest and transparent relationships are a rarity, and unbiased, objective ones hardly exist. In this client-therapist relationship, we get to work together to cultivate healing in a way that is suitable and comfortable for you.
Outside of being a therapist, I teach a good number of classes at Fahrenheit Yoga where my soul comes alive creating space for students to decompress and gain a higher sense of self. The parallel between yoga, movement, and mental health is unmatched.
Outside of therapy and yoga, I spend as much time as possible gallivanting around Nashville tasting all of the food and drinks, moving my body through CrossFit and yoga, and living fully in the big belly laugh moments with friends.
